Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about PIPVEX, the easy-to-set-up trading bot for MetaTrader 5: getting started, how it trades and how it looks after your account.

Getting started

What is PIPVEX?

PIPVEX is an easy-to-set-up trading bot for MetaTrader 5. It is an Expert Advisor (EA): you add it to MetaTrader 5 once, and it finds, opens, manages and closes trades for you automatically. It is built for prop firm challenges and funded accounts as well as personal accounts, has drawdown protection built in, and comes as a one-time licence in three editions: Basic, Pro and Expert.

How do I set up PIPVEX?

Setup takes a few simple steps. Choose a plan and create your PIPVEX account with your MT5 account number. Download PIPVEX from your account page and add it to MetaTrader 5. Allow it to connect to pipvex.com so it can check your licence, and enter your PIPVEX username. Then attach it to a chart with the default settings or a ready-made setfile. From then on it trades automatically.

Do I need to know how to code or build a strategy?

No. PIPVEX is ready to run: there is no code to write and no strategy to build. Start with the default settings or a ready-made setfile, and the PIPVEX team and community are there if you have questions.

How does PIPVEX decide when to trade?

PIPVEX looks for moments when price has stretched unusually far from its recent average and trades the move back, taking profit as price returns. Before every trade it checks for upcoming high-impact news, a fair spread and nearby support and resistance, so it only trades when conditions line up. How it works

Which platform does PIPVEX run on?

PIPVEX is built specifically for MetaTrader 5 and runs on any MetaTrader 5 account, whether from a broker or a prop firm.

What is the difference between Basic, Pro and Expert?

Basic trades forex and keeps the settings simple. Pro adds futures and unlocks more settings, including funded mode for prop firm targets. Expert can trade any symbol and gives full control of every setting. All three include the same built-in drawdown protection. Compare plans

How is PIPVEX priced?

Each edition is a one-time licence, not a subscription, with lifetime access to that edition's features. Current prices are shown in the pricing section and include VAT.

Is there a PIPVEX community?

Yes. Every licence holder gets access to the private PIPVEX Discord and Telegram, with official and member setfiles, staff support and other traders running the same EA. The invite links appear on your account page as soon as your licence is active.

Protection and results

How does PIPVEX protect my account?

Drawdown protection is built in and always on. If the account is down 3% on the day, PIPVEX closes its trades and pauses until the next day. At 7% total drawdown it stays out of the market, and at 9% it stops trading the account altogether. Every trade is checked against these limits before it is placed, and every order comes with a stop loss by default. Drawdown protection

Does PIPVEX use martingale or grid trading?

No grid and no martingale averaging. PIPVEX never adds to a losing position and never opens a second trade in the same direction on a symbol. With the default settings every trade is sized from your chosen risk per trade and has its stop loss from the moment it opens.

Does PIPVEX trade during big news releases?

No. PIPVEX uses MetaTrader 5's built-in economic calendar to see high-impact news coming and stays out of new trades from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after each release.

Where can I see PIPVEX's results?

The results page shows PIPVEX's results with their equity curves, profit factor, maximum drawdown and average monthly return, plus the full trading history to download.

Prop firms

Can I use PIPVEX on a prop firm account?

Yes. PIPVEX runs on any prop firm account that offers MetaTrader 5 and allows Expert Advisors, for challenges and funded accounts alike. Its drawdown protection is built around the common 5% daily and 10% overall limits. Prop firm trading with PIPVEX

Can I enter my prop firm's own limits?

Yes. Every edition lets you set a daily loss limit, and Pro and Expert add funded mode, where you enter your firm's overall loss limit, profit target and minimum trading days.

Your licence

Can I move my licence to another MT5 account?

Yes. Your licence is linked to the MT5 account number on your PIPVEX profile, and you can switch it to a different MT5 account from your account page whenever you need to, once every 24 hours.

Does PIPVEX see my trading data?

No. PIPVEX only checks that your licence is active. Your balance, trades and results stay private on your own computer.

Does my computer need to stay on?

PIPVEX runs inside MetaTrader 5, so it trades while MetaTrader 5 is open. Many traders run MetaTrader 5 on a virtual private server (VPS) so PIPVEX works around the clock, even when their own computer is off.

Performance is variable and depends on individual configuration and market conditions. Backtested results are hypothetical and do not guarantee future results. This is not financial advice. All trading involves risk and you may lose some or all of your capital. Users are responsible for ensuring their configuration complies with their prop firm's terms of service.
