The RID™ Index

Know what is noise,
and what is movement.

Markets spend most of their time going nowhere, loudly. A wide range is not the same thing as a trend, and a quiet hour is not the same thing as a dead one. Telling those apart by eye is where most strategies quietly lose their edge.

The Relative Information Density™ Index measures it instead. On every closed bar it weighs how much movement the market is producing against how far that movement is actually getting, and scores the answer from 0 to 100. Low means the market is going somewhere. High means it is just busy.

You pick the band you want to trade. Your strategy then takes signals only while the market is behaving the way it was built for, and stands aside when it is not.
